Did you know…..

deposit details make a difference when applying for a loan?

They do! Most of us expect to share a plethora of personal information when refinancing or applying for a loan. However, many people don’t realize that deposit verification is now part of the mix. It’s a byproduct of mortgage fraud and The Patriot Act. Lenders are now required to verify the source of deposits. Some lenders have a cutoff point at $500 to $1000. Many lenders do not have a limit and require applicants to confirm the source of EVERY deposit.  Anyone who is considering applying for a loan or refinancing a loan will need to be prepared to do some extra research. A great way to save time and make record keeping simple is to have a copy of the check deposited imprinted on your deposit receipt (& file them, of course). Fortunately, most ATM’s and electronic banking apps make this very easy. You are highly encouraged to take advantage of this functionality! I promise, you’ll be grateful you did if you find yourself in this situation.
